Dr. Christopher Stanley
An internationally known commercial scientist who has a broad-based career in the life sciences. After leaving academic research at Cambridge to join one of the first spin-out biotechnology companies from the University, Dr Stanley worked subsequently in R&D management in the medical, veterinary and industrial diagnostics sectors before embarking on a consulting career, first with a major international technology and business consulting firm and then in the consulting company, Ivotech, which he founded.
Dr. Stanley has held a large number of management and directorship positions in his career. Today Dr. Stanley is CEO of Microsens Biotechnologies, UK.
Dr Stanley has published over >40 scientific papers and posters and is an inventor, or co-inventor of 27 published patents.
Gunnar Fernström
Gunnar Fernström is Investment Director and Head of the Healthcare/Life Sciences team. He has been with InnovationsKapital since early 1998 and was previously employed in a variety of positions at SCA Mölnlycke, a global paper, packaging and consumer products company. He spent 14 years in the Healthcare Division including 2 years as Managing Director, 4 years in Absorbent Products Supply as Managing Director and ultimately 4 years as Technical Director and Executive Vice President of the SCA Mölnlycke Group.
Gunnar Fernström has 22 years industry experience and 7 years venture capital experience. He has an M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering and an IMD Geneva in International Marketing.
Aris Constantinides
Aris Constantinides is a co-founder of NBG Technology LP, a EUR 60M venture capital fund investing in early stage technology companies across Europe. Aris Constantinides focuses on healthcare-related companies developing medical devices, diagnostics and other enabling technologies for the healthcare sector, usually taking them through clinical trials and regulatory approvals.
Aris Constantinides has been an active venture capital and private equity investor for more than 8 years, also with Deutsche Bank’s and Credit Suisse First Boston’s investment funds. He has received a B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College, where he graduated top of his class, an MS in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and an MBA from INSEAD.
Yvonne Engelen
Yvonne Engelen has an M.Sc. degree in Chemical Engineering (1987) and a PhD in Polymer Technology (1991), both from the Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands. After a few years as Assistant Professor at this University, she joined DSM Research in 1993 and filled positions in R&D management and Account Management. In 1999 Yvonne became Head of DSM’s Corporate Recruitment department and in 2002, she joined DSM’s Corporate Venturing group as Investment Manager and related to that, is on the Board of Directors at several of this group’s portfolio companies.
